Regional District of Central Kootenay received funds to support undertaking Operational Fuel Treatment in two pilot areas - Harrop-Proctor Block 150 area and Boswell Block 25 area. The project will reduce crown continuity to sustain a crown fire reduce the understorey tree density to minimize ladder fuels prune retained trees to reduce ladder fuels and risk of crown fire and surface removal and slash disposal for debris management.
