In 2004 the CBT initiated a survey of the region's residents on their views of water. It revealed thatBasin citizens felt domestic water issues to be the most critical water related issue for the area. The Columbia Basin also has some of the highest per capita water use stastics in the entire world.As a result of this information the CBT committed to hold a water conservation symposium tobe held on May25and26 in Cranbrook at the College of the Rockies.
