This initiative involves the introduction of a complimentary monetary system in the Nelson community. The aim is to promote economic health and resiliency by encouraging local spending. Community dollars were launched in July 2012. The start up phase will include signing up more businesses addressing challenges and releasing more currency. CBT funds will be used towards the costs associated with this project.
