This lively and thought provoking workshop provides an understanding of the ecology of the Columbia River wetlands their biodiversity and significance on a local to global scale. Opportunities and responsibilities that wetlands provide to local communities will be discussed. Workshop topics include programming and marketing considerations for wetland tour operations tourism businesses and chambers of commerce and the roles of community leaders and planners. Opportunities related to local bird festivals are also highlighted. A concluding float trip on the Columbia showcases the nature of the Columbia River Wetlands to participants.
