Community Agriculture Learning Needs Assessment

The Creston Valley's agriculture sector has the potential to help feed the region and to drive local community and economic development. From March to August 2013 the Community Agriculture Learning Needs Assessment (CALNA) will lay a foundation for realizing this potential and reclaiming Creston's reputation for excellence in community based agri food education. CALNA will bring together the College of the Rockies Community Futures of Central Kootenay Creston Valley Agriculture Society Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce Creston Valley Food Action Coalition Kootenay Employment Services Lower Kootenay Band Prince Charles Secondary School and other local groups and individuals. These partners will identify what programs services and facilities for agri food education would best serve the needs of the people they serve. The partners will also collaborate to begin developing the plans and partnerships that will make these learning supports possible.
