The Community Initiatives and Affected Areas Programs are community based granting programs that incorporate residents' input in the adjudication process. Funds for the Community Initiatives Program (CIP) are allocated on a per capita funding formula in the Basin. Funds for the Affected Areas Program (AAP) are allocated on a per capita plus a base value per Affected Area funding formula. The Programs are delivered on behalf of the Columbia Basin Trust by the Regional Districts of East Kootenay Central Kootenay Kootenay Boundary City of Revelstoke Town of Golden Village of Valemount and the Ktunaxa Nation Council. Regional District of Central Kootenay administers $803 417 CIP funds annually as well as $352 242 AAP annual allocations to the following geographic areas in the listed amounts: Village of Nakusp$94 121.00 Electoral Area K$102 787.00 That portion of Electoral Area J within 10 kilometers of the Arrow Lakes Upstream of the Reservoir$77 667.00 That portion of Electoral Area D within 10 kilometers of the Duncan Reservoir$77 667.00.
