This project supports the deactivation of another 26 km of forest roads on the Darkwoods Conservation Property. Darkwoods history of forestry has left a network of road and landings throughout the property which can cause habitat fragmentation increase runoff and increase the potential for landslides. This in turn causes increased sedimentation in the water which can impact aquatic habitat and impact sensitive plant and animal communities.
