The Village of Canal Flats will be hosting the grand opening celebration of the Columbia Discovery Centre in Canal Flats BC on September 14 2013. The Discovery Centre is a refurbished log home that was donated to the Village of Canal Flats in 2010 and was moved to a central downtown location. The building is a hub of sorts with space shared between municipal office staff Ktunaxa cultural displays and the local Arts Council. In partnership with the Ktunaxa part of the centre is celebrated as an Interpretive Centre telling the Creation Story and heralding Canal Flats as the source of the Columbia River. CBT funds will be used toward the costs associated with food costs for this event.
