The Yoho Burgess Shale Foundation's project is to develop the Media Studio within The Burgess Shale Earth & Life Science Learning Centre. It is proposed to save the community school by developing the Burgess Shale Earth & Life Science Learning Centre. This will be undertaken by constructing a new 10 475 sq foot facility adjacent to the existing school facility and incorporating the unused portions of the school to establish a learning centre. The learning centre will employ approximately four permanent and five seasonal staff members. The Learning Centre is located within the core residential area of the community. It is imperative at this stage in the development of the learning centre that the previous feasibility study be updated. Yoho Burgess Shale must now reassess the economic feasibility of the learning centre and the media studio within the learning centre.
