Provide funds to the Contractor to undertake the Gatekeeper Program which will expand the Castlegar CRN's (Community Response Network) role to be responsive in identifying abuse neglect and self neglect of older people through a collective and collaborative community effort that promotes a shared responsibility to help seniors in need. A Gatekeeper provides an essential link and access to opportunities previously non existent to an at risk senior. This program will help many seniors who often "slip through the cracks" of the formal service system by keeping a "watchful eye" for signs and symptoms that may indicate an elderly person is in need of assistance and to report or refer that person to Castlegar Gatekeeper Program via the Regional Crisis Line toll free telephone number while conducting their daily activities.
