The Kootenay Writers Society is hosting the Kootenay Literary Competition this year with the theme Velocity. Writers may interpret the theme in any way they like and approach it through any of the genre categories. The competition is open to everyone in the kootenays who is 18 years or older with categories in fiction non-fiction and poetry. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first and second place winners in each category with awards being held on February 26 in Nelson.
