The Creston & District Historical & Museum Society is hosting the Kootenay Pass 50th Anniversary Celebration on October 6 2013 on the Summit of the Kootenay Pass between Creston and Salmo. This one day event is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Kootenay Pass. A cavalcade of cars from both sides will meet at the Summit for a special ceremony followed by a ribbon cutting. Exhibits at the Summit will outline the history of the Pass and showcase related activities including highway maintenance search and rescue and BC Parks. CBT funds will be used toward the costs associated with hosting this event.
