This project supports the Nature Conservancy of Canada in its implementation of the final phase of the mechanical restoration on Kootenay River Ranch Unit 7b in order to prepare for an 83 hectare prescribed burn. A low-intensity surface fire will complete the cycle of open forest grassland restoration through a reduction in the duff layer and consumption of conifer seedlings.
