The Ktunaxa Nation Council will identify and research the traditional justice systems, including kinship systems, of the many Aboriginal cultures represented in the populations served by the Ktunaxa Nation. The project also includes assessing the feasibility of, developing and delivering a culturally appropriate Aboriginal Justice System for the region. The goal of this project is to work with relevant stakeholders to improve outcomes, reduce recidivism and promote healing and recovery for Aboriginal people involved in the mainstream justice system.
