The Multicultural Fashion Show is a meaningful way to increase visibility and raise awareness of the culturally diverse society in Cranbrook's elementary schools. The show's purpose is to show case various cultural fashions worn by women and families who have moved to the East Kootenay from many parts of the world. The Multicultural Fashion Show encourages students to be creative when learning about new cultures and invites an open discussion about cultural awareness and the fight against racism. The show also invites parents to become involved by sharing their cultural experiences with the school. A public dance performance winds up the presentation. A resource book for teachers is available.
