The funding helps the Village of Nakusp evaluate commercial opportunities at the Nakusp Hot Springs. Today about 70 000 people visit the springs annually and the potential exists to develop the springs into a year round resort. Funding for the project includes: identifying tourism activities in the area and obtaining statistical data on visitor levels. identifying commercial opportunities at the site and within a 20 minute drive of the springs. preparing a concept plan including commercial opportunities. preparing an architectural rendering of the proposed resort; and preparing a proposal call for investors.
