Regional District of Central Kootenay will prepare for wildfires by upgrading the wildfire equipment for the Ootischenia Fire Department, including hose, a pump, hand tools, sprinklers and a wildfire equipment trailer, as well as offering specialized wildfire training to crew members, to strengthen their ability to respond to wildfires in Ootischenia.
