The Community Initiatives and Affected Areas Program is a community-based granting program that incorporates local input in the adjudication process. CIP/AAP is delivered on behalf of the Trust by the Regional Districts of Central Kootenay, East Kootenay, Kootenay Boundary, Town of Golden, City of Revelstoke, Village of Valemount, aq'am, akisq'nuk, Yaqan nukiy, Yaqit aknuqi 'it, and Kenpesqt.
