This project supports the Shuswap Band to partner with other Secwepemc communities, the Ktunaxa, and Okanagan Nations to conduct a ceremonial release of Sockeye salmon fry into the headwaters of the Columbia River at a location that has been used historically for harvesting salmon by the local Indigenous peoples.
