Water Smart Coordinator 2

The Columbia Basin Water Smart Initiative (Water Smart) will address water conservation in the Basin and provide support to Regional Districts and Municipalities. As a regional approach to provide capacity and support to local governments in achieving community specific water conservation targets that contribute to a 20 percent Basin wide reduction in community water consumption by 2015. Water Smart will work with a minimum of 10 local governments in the first phase of Water Smart (July 2009 January 2011). CBT is committed to increasing residents' opportunity for involvement and influence in water management and improving the overall understanding and awareness of water related issues. CBT will commit $60 000 to contract a coordinator who will be responsible for the overall coordination of the key components of Water Smart.
