The City of Nelson received funds to deliver the West Kootenay Transit Committee - Ridership Development Program. Regional District of Central Kootenay Regional District of Kootenay Boundary and City of Nelson are partners in a unique transit service delivery model that will increase transit riders thereby reducing single vehicle passenger trips and thereby reducing GHG emissions in the region and will reduce the cost of providing transit by increasing fare revenue which will make transit more sustainable in the region.
