Contract cost to produce the third edition of the new youth print publication 'Scratch' in fiscal year 2004. Scratch magazine is a magazine for and by youth (aged 15 29 years) in the Columbia Basin. The overall goal of the magazine is to connect youth in the Columbia Basin and to exchange information about issues and ideas of interest to youth. The goals of this initiative are to create an ongoing opportunity for Basin youth to network and share information and ideas and to create a media source which highlights and celebrates youth culture in the Basin. This print publication will focus on Basin youth culture and provide a venue for youth expression on a range of current issues. Partnerships with a variety of youth organizations and educational institutions will be explored in the production of this media component in order to facilitate youth training opportunities within the program.
