Melanie Jeannotte
Melanie Jeannotte (Fernie) is a business leader, entrepreneur and community advocate with deep roots in the Columbia Basin. Over the past 20 years, she has built and led organizations that prioritize people, purpose and long-term impact. As CEO of Gallagher Benefit Services (Canada), she guided the company through rapid growth and national expansion while championing inclusive leadership and client-centred innovation. She also co-founded Vital Benefits Inc., a firm known for its values-driven consulting approach, and now co-owns Polar Peek Books, an independent bookstore that fosters literacy and local connection in Fernie. Melanie’s board experience spans economic development, food security and small business advocacy. She has been recognized with a Women of Distinction Award from Insurance Business Canada and named one of Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40. A former varsity wrestler and wildland firefighter, she brings grit, empathy and a strong sense of regional stewardship to her work.
Her term expires December 31, 2027.
